Aviva was one of the big winners of the night, taking home four outright prizes. Marsh and Sedgwick also won multiple awards. Sheila Cameron, CEO of Lloyd’s Market Association, was named Insurance Personality of the Year.
Steve White, former CEO of the British Insurer’s Association, was given the Achievement Award. Whilst accepting his trophy, White told the 1,400 guests attending: “Let me share with you a simple football analogy. No manager ever won a major award with a poor side; it was my privilege and honour to lead a quite fantastic team at BIBA over a 10-year period. They did and continue to do some amazing work, not just on behalf of the members but also on behalf of the larger general insurance sector.”
Reserv, the company building a digitally native TPA for the P&C insurance market, received the award for Newcomer of the Year.
