The partnership will improve the customer experience in relation to shipping disruptions and offer a solution to the inadequate insurance experience provided by carriers.
Anansi, the insurtech company, has partnered with leading ecommerce luxury goodd marketplace, Wowcher, to provide embedded insurance offerings on good shipping processes.
Founded by Megan Walker and Ana Carvalho (main picture) in 2018, Anansi is a goods-in-transit embedded insurance platform for distribution partners and ecommerce businesses. Access to the platform is via an embedded API, enabling 3PLs, ecommerce marketplaces, online retailers and freight forwarders to offer insurance directly to their customers from within their own front-end environments.
Embedded solutions for the ecommerce marketplace
Anasi says the partnership will improve the customer experience in relation to shipping disruptions and offer a solution to the inadequate insurance experience provided by carriers.
Wowcher is to extend embedded goods-in-transit insurance across its product range and the partnership with Anansi will enable the marketplace to better protect its business against loss, delay and damage during the last mile shipping process, and ensure the customer delivery experience is as smooth as possible.
Wowcher’s embedded insurance offering will provide better customer service
According to reports, Anansi’s embedded insurance solution digitises the insurance experience by eliminating administration and automating the claims process for lost and delayed shipments. Triggered parametrically by predefined time thresholds, touchless claims remove the task of manually managing carrier claims and deliver a less time-intensive process that frees up internal resources. The streamlined claims management process was an important factor in why Wowcher chose to work with Anansi.
Through this partnership with Anansi, Wowcher will be able to rectify shipping mishaps faster, recoup the full retail value of lost items and have greater oversight and control of the customer delivery experience. The service integrates directly into Wowchers Warehouse Management System to ensure that products leave the warehouse with automatic full-value protection.
Improving the customer experience through embedded solutions
Speaking about the new partnership, Adam Clouting, Head of Product Sourcing and Supply Chain at Wowcher, said: “Customer experience is key for all ecommerce companies at the moment, finding a way to allow our CS team more time to deal with the customer knowing the shipping risks and insurances are automated is a real plus. Often we miss our deadline to claim, for various reasons, Anansi’s solution negates this and allows our teams to focus on other areas of the supply chain needing attention. It has really benefitted higher ticket furniture’s lines and the opportunity to streamline a manual process is always an attraction for us.”
Megan Bingham-Walker, CEO and Co-founder at Anansi, adds: “Wowcher is an industry-leading online marketplace, with more than 20 million subscribers, offering some of the best deals around. We’re excited to be part of their shipping process to support a superior customer experience, and a streamlined insurance process. As online retail continues to rise, so do the associated shipping risks, and Anansi’s embedded insurance product is the ideal tool to help mitigate this risk.”
