AXA XL Elevates Simon Price to Head M&A & Title for UK & Lloyd’s Operations
AXA XL, the premier property and casualty (P&C) insurance and specialty risk division of the global insurer AXA, has announced the appointment of Simon Price as the new Head of M&A & Title – UK & Lloyd’s.

Price, a seasoned professional with seven years of experience at AXA XL, has ascended through various leadership roles within the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team.

His journey began with XL Catlin, where he served as the Head of M&A, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Following the acquisition of XL Group by AXA in 2018, which led to the formation of AXA XL, Price continued to demonstrate his capabilities, assuming the position of Head of International M&A, a role he adeptly managed for over five years.

Before joining AXA XL, Price honed his expertise during his tenure at Marsh, specializing in warranty and indemnity as well as specific/contingent risk insurance. His journey at Marsh commenced in 2012 as Vice President, PEMA, and progressed to Senior Vice President, PEMA, by 2016. Price’s professional trajectory also includes stints at David Arnold Cooper LLP within DAC’s corporate department and at QBE European Operations.

Price’s career roots delve into private legal practice, spanning a decade before transitioning into the insurance sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Oxford and served as a Judicial Assistant following his studies at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. Price’s early professional experiences include serving as a Secondee to the Investment Legal team at 3i Group plc and completing his training as a solicitor at Macfarlanes, followed by a stint as a Locum solicitor at SJ Berwin.
