Blink Parametric, the Irish Insurtech firm, in partnership with MAWDY, a global insurance and reinsurance services provider and part of the MAPFRE Group, has announced its entry into the Sub-Saharan African market. The launch, beginning in Kenya, marks a significant milestone for both companies, offering real-time travel assistance to insurers reinsured by MAWDY in the region.
Blink Parametric’s flagship Flight Disruption solution will be rolled out to customers of MAWDY’s partner networks in Kenya, with further expansion planned across the Sub-Saharan region. This service provides insured travelers with immediate assistance when their flights face delays.
By registering their flight details, travelers are monitored in real-time by Blink Parametric. If a flight is delayed by four hours or more, the insured passenger is notified and granted VIP access to one of 1,300 executive airport lounges worldwide. This access remains valid for up to six months if not used on the day of the disruption, offering a stress-free solution for disrupted travelers.
