The new partnership aims to introduce a real-time flight delay insurance service specifically tailored to the Italian market.
As the leading insurance company in the private assistance sector in Italy, Europ Assistance Italy, headquartered in Milan, boasts over 50 years of experience within the Europ Assistance Group, operating across 34 countries with a vast support network spanning 208 countries.
Blink Parametric has won several awards and has a robust marketplace reputation when it comes to providing simple, intuitive, and real-time parametric products. With expertise in high-frequency, low-value claims across the travel sector, the insurtech also provides solutions for flight disruptions and lost luggage, while also developing products related to climate, weather, energy, and business interruption through its automated platform.
Meanwhile, Europ Assistance Italy concentrates on simplifying their clients’ lives by providing assistance during emergencies and stressful situations. The introduction of the flight delay parametric product offers a smart and rapid solution to meet the needs of travelers seeking protection even from the most common inconveniences, such as flight delays.
Partnership provides expansion scope for Blink’s flight disruption solution
The joint venture represents a significant milestone for Blink Parametric, enabling the expansion of its flagship flight disruption solution into the Italian market. Sid Mouncey, CEO of Blink Parametric, praised the collaborative efforts between Europ Assistance and CPP Italy, emphasising their shared commitment to real-time communication.
He said: “This was a great collaboration involving multidisciplinary teams from within Europ Assistance and our sister company CPP Italy. We each share a service commitment to communicate with customers in real-time, offering alerts, status updates, service benefit options and importantly, compensation and we are excited to launch in such a key European market with an acclaimed specialist travel insurance and assistance partner that will maximise our technology to deliver the most for its network and the travelling public.”
According to reports, to access the benefits, insured travelers need only register their flight schedule, which will then be continuously monitored in real-time. In the event of an eligible delay or cancellation on any leg of the journey, the insurance payout or airport lounge pass will be automatically and seamlessly issued to the traveler’s smartphone, alleviating the inconvenience caused by the disruption.
This partnership also represents a significant step forward for Blink Parametric, further solidifying its global presence and collaboration with insurance and financial services companies across Asia, Europe, North America, Central America, and Latin America.
