Cambridge Mobile Telematics Expands European Presence with New Leadership in France
Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world's leading telematics service provider, has further strengthened its European operations by appointing Rima Khetab as the Director of Sales for France and Benelux.

Khetab brings over 17 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, banking, and international business development, with a strong focus on insurance software. She has held key leadership positions at Solera, Imaweb, and Atos, where she specialised in international sales and partnership development within the motor insurance and OEM ecosystems.

The appointment follows CMT’s recent expansion in Italy, signaling the company’s continued growth across Europe.

“CMT is growing aggressively in Europe. We are partnering with the leading auto insurers in Germany, Poland, and Croatia, have introduced new product and sales leadership in Italy, and are now welcoming a new sales leader in France. And, we’re just getting started,” said William V. Powers, CMT co-founder and CEO.

“Today, France is facing higher premiums, higher repair costs, and widespread distracted driving. Our new leadership will help France address these challenges with the next generation of mobility solutions.”

In France, where insurance premiums have increased by over 3% in the past year, engaging drivers daily has become essential. The country saw more than 3,000 road fatalities in 2023, with claims frequency and severity on the rise. Repair costs are escalating by 7% annually, largely due to the increasing price of parts. Additionally, distracted driving remains a significant issue, with 78% of French drivers admitting to using their phones while behind the wheel.

To combat these trends, many insurers are turning to connected insurance programs powered by Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT). These programs have proven effective, reducing claims frequency by up to 24% and saving an average of €500 per claim through telematics-driven First Notice of Loss (FNOL) data. CMT studies also reveal that drivers engaged in these programs can decrease their distracted driving by 20%.

With premiums on the rise, French drivers are increasingly interested in solutions that offer relief. Surveys indicate that 61% of French drivers would participate in a connected insurance program to demonstrate their risk levels and lower their premiums. Furthermore, 92% believe that driving behavior should be a key factor in determining auto insurance pricing.
