Chubb Appoints Frederico Spagnoli as Division President of Consumer Lines for Overseas GI
Chubb, the global property and casualty insurance company, has appointed industry veteran Frederico Spagnoli as the division president of consumer lines for Overseas General Insurance, its international general insurance operation.

The news follows on from Chubb subsidiaries reaffirming AM Best has recently reaffirmed the “Superior” ratings of Chubb subsidiaries, which include Chubb Bermuda Insurance and Chubb Tempest Reinsurance. Furthermore, Chubb has recently unveiled a strategic partnership with the cybersecurity firm SentinelOne.

Federico Spagnoli has been appointed Division President, Consumer Lines for Chubb’s international general insurance operations.

In this newly established role, Spagnoli will oversee Chubb’s consumer lines across 51 countries and territories. His tenure is set to commence on January 15, reporting directly to Juan Luis Ortega, the executive vice president of Chubb Group and president of Overseas General Insurance. Bringing over two decades of industry expertise to the position, Spagnoli most recently served as the CEO of Fully Ecosystem, a wellness fintech venture under Prudential Financial. Prior to this role, he held the position of regional president for Latin America at Prudential Financial.

With a diverse professional background, Spagnoli spent nearly 13 years at AIG, where he held various leadership roles, including regional consumer CEO for EMEA and India, regional consumer lines head for Latin America, and personal lines regional vice president for Latin America. His extensive experience also includes leadership positions in Japan and South Korea.

“Frederico is a seasoned executive who brings significant experience building and leading consumer insurance and digital businesses across Asia, Europe and Latin America,” Ortega said. “He is joining Chubb at an exciting time for our consumer businesses, which bring together a unique combination of product distribution and technology capabilities.

“In this new role, Frederico will provide leadership as we focus on optimising and leveraging the full strengths of our consumer offering, from our broad range of personal lines and A&H products to our direct marketing platform, relationships with agents and brokers, and B2B2C digital distribution partnerships through Chubb Studio. We have substantial runway for growth in Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Europe, and Frederico has the track record and expertise to help us realise the combined potential of our consumer business.”

Spagnoli holds a law degree from Universidad del Salvador, an MBA in management and finance from Washington University in St. Louis, and a postgraduate diploma in strategy and innovation from the University of Oxford.
