Chubb Launches Global Transactional Risk Platform, Appoints Senior Leadership
Chubb, a leading insurance provider, has announced the launch of a comprehensive global transactional risk platform aimed at offering liability insurance products for transactions on an international scale.

The initiative marks a significant expansion of Chubb’s services into international markets.

The company has appointed Josh Cowen as Senior Vice President, International Transactional Risk, to spearhead this endeavor from its London headquarters. With extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) risk insurance, Cowen will lead a team of underwriters tasked with offering warranty and indemnity, tax, and contingent liability products across jurisdictions outside of North America.

This strategic move is poised to bolster Chubb’s existing North American operations, with the incorporation of Cowen’s expertise in London. The newly established global transactional risk platform aims to cater to the requirements of broker partners and clients engaged in global M&A transactions, who seek comprehensive support across diverse geographies.

Under the guidance of Edward Markovich, Executive Vice President of Chubb Transactional Risk, the platform will operate on a global scale, consolidating leadership under a unified team. This unified approach ensures a coordinated strategy and consistent underwriting practices across regions, enhancing Chubb’s ability to meet the evolving needs of its clientele.

Cowen will be under the supervision of Lance Fraser, who serves as Senior Vice President at Chubb Transactional Risk. Bringing nearly 15 years of experience in transaction risk, Cowen has previously held high-level managerial positions overseeing M&A underwriting at renowned insurance firms. Before transitioning into M&A insurance underwriting, Cowen practiced as a corporate lawyer at a prestigious law firm based in London.

He is a qualified solicitor for England and Wales and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Commerce from the University of Leeds. Subsequently, he pursued his legal education at BPP Law School, completing his Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC).

Markovich said:  “Chubb is positioned to support our broker partners and clients with transactional risk solutions in jurisdictions across the world with our new international business lead.”

He added: “Josh’s deep understanding of transactional risk underwriting, and leadership experience sourcing and leading M&A insurance placements will complement our goal to grow our transactional risk practice as a global platform.”
