The initiative sees Chubb assembling a dedicated team comprising underwriters, risk engineers, and claims specialists with extensive expertise in the healthcare technology sector.

The primary objective of this new practice is to offer tailored insurance solutions designed to safeguard both company assets and third-party liabilities within the rapidly evolving HealthTech landscape.

The HealthTech practice will cater to a wide spectrum of businesses, ranging from burgeoning startups to well-established enterprises, operating in sectors that supply technology solutions for healthcare services, research environments, and associated professional services. This encompasses activities such as software creation, distribution, licensing, development, and integration tailored specifically for these industries.

Among the comprehensive insurance coverages offered by the new practice are protection against property damage, business interruption, terrorism, employers’ liability, and cyber threats. Additionally, liability protection is extended to cover claims related to bodily injury, product and service liability, professional indemnity, intellectual property disputes, and corporate reputational harm. Importantly, all coverage options are customizable, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

Heading this pioneering venture is Louise Joyce, who serves as the Head of Industry Practices for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Assisting her is Victoria D’Silva, appointed as the Life Science Practice Leader for the UK & Ireland, who will lead a dedicated underwriting team focused on delivering specialized solutions for clients operating within the HealthTech sector.

Louise Joyce, Head of Industry Practices EMEA at Chubb, said: “We have been providing coverage for HealthTech clients for many years. Our new offering has been designed specifically to meet the needs of companies operating in this fast-moving sector and provides a range of cover in one flexible package that can be arranged online in just a few clicks through Chubb Ignite.”

Victoria D’Silva, UK&I Life Science Manager at Chubb, also commented, saying: “HealthTech firms are complex and face myriad exposures that require a specialist policy to avoid gaps in cover.”

She added: “Our product includes a range of first- and third-party covers that are integrated together to ensure that even in claims with multiple types of injuries and causes, there is certainty cover will respond within the scope of the policy wording.”
