The insurance policies have been rolled out in Singapore and will be offered in other countries across southeast Asia, pending regulatory approval. The protection plan is offered as an add-on when making purchases through the Klook platform and is designed to offer coverage for the duration of the activity it is purchased alongside.
“FWD is responding to meet and support the needs of customers with accident cover insurance that is more accessible, simple and affordable, encouraging them to protect themselves while doing what they love. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to become a leading pan Asian insurer by changing the way people feel about insurance,” said Terence Lim, FWD Group Chief Officer, Group New Business Models.
“In this new travel environment, customers are demanding increased assurances and insurance has been a natural progression to that. Klook will continue to address every touch point of our customers’ journey from travel-related insurance to experiences and more,” said C S Soong, Vice President of Corporate Development at Klook.
The deal comes half a year after Klook signed a joint venture agreement with insurtech firm ZA Tech to integrate the latter’s proprietary insurtech software into its platform. The deal enables Klook to feature travel-related insurance products from a range of insurers on its website and app.
