Goboony, Europe’s premier camper sharing platform, has joined forces with iptiQ, a subsidiary of Swiss Re, to unveil a customised digital insurance solution catering to the unique requirements of motorhome owners.
The product marks its debut in Goboony’s home market, the Netherlands, with plans for expansion across other European markets in the near future.
Established in 2015, Goboony offers motorhome owners an online platform to rent out their vehicles. Operating in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Germany, France, and Italy, Goboony boasts a fleet exceeding 30,000 motorhomes, making it the largest platform of its kind in Europe.
By actively engaging with customers through its peer-to-peer rental platform and conducting targeted surveys within its community, Goboony has gleaned valuable insights into the distinct insurance needs of motorhome owners. These insights include preferences for roadside assistance and coverage for inventories. The newly introduced insurance product addresses such specialised customer requirements, encompassing provisions for replacement vehicles or accommodations in the event of incidents.
Leveraging iptiQ’s profound risk expertise and technological prowess, the insurance solution is meticulously crafted to streamline the insurance process for campers while ensuring affordability. Following a successful launch in the Netherlands, Goboony and iptiQ are poised to penetrate additional motorhome markets across Europe, leveraging the scalability of this comprehensive end-to-end insurance platform.
Mark de Vos, CEO of Goboony, said: “Proper insurance coverage means peace of mind, and we are very pleased that we can now offer this innovative product that meets motorhome owners’ requirements. Thanks to iptiQ’s expertise in seamlessly embedding its digital insurance solutions into online platforms, we are able to provide a state-of-the-art customer experience.”
Andreas Schertzinger, Regional Market Executive of iptiQ EMEA, said: “We are delighted to partner with Goboony in this dynamic market segment. Goboony’s direct access to first-hand insights from its active community helps us translate their feedback into product features that are tailored to the needs of campers. This is a great example of how our B2B2C model works in real life.”
