The policy is designed to cater to various sectors, including biotechnology and specialty pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, producers of non-invasive, invasive, and permanently implantable medical devices, blood plasma manufacturers, as well as contract manufacturing and contract development manufacturing organisations (CMOs and CDMOs).

Brian Carlsen has recently joined HDI as Assistant Vice President and will take on the role of US Life Science Lead, focusing on expanding the company’s business in this area. With 16 years of underwriting experience, including 10 years specialising in life sciences placements, Carlsen brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. Before joining HDI, he held the role of Underwriting Manager and Referral Underwriter for the East region at a Fortune 500 insurance carrier, and holds a degree in communications from Fairfield University.
