Ledgebrook Launches New Architects and Engineers Product

Ledgebrook Launches New Architects and Engineers Product
Ledgebrook, the US insurtech MGA, has announced it is expanding its offerings with a new architects and engineers (A&E) insurance product.

The product is being launched in collaboration with Obsidian Insurance. Ahead of the launch, Ledgebrook announced it has appointed Carolyn Pearce, (pictured) an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, to lead the A&E practice.

Pearce has held senior roles at Hudson Insurance Group, Argo, Lexington (AIG), and Chubb Insurance, where she drove profitable growth and enhanced risk management strategies.

The new insurance product follows Ledgebrook’s recent news that it is launching professional liability and allied healthcare offerings, also in partnership with Obsidian.

Obsidian’s business model involves issuing policies underwritten by MGAs, managing general underwriters, and programme managers, with a focus on a portfolio that includes property, casualty, and specialty insurance programmes.

Ledgebrook completed a successful $24 million Series A round in 2024. Ledgebrook intends to use the funds to support the launch of new excess and surplus products, attract industry talent, and invest in its proprietary technology.

John Mullen, Chief Underwriting Officer at Ledgebrook, commented: “Ledgebrook is thrilled to bring our team’s insurance expertise along with our class-leading tech stack to the A&E market. This powerful combination of people and technology will enable us to offer a fast and seamless quoting experience to our current and new wholesale partners in the A&E space.”

Carolyn Pearce added: “I am excited to be a part of the Ledgebrook team, launching the Architects and Engineers product. By combining industry expertise with best-in-class technology, Ledgebrook is uniquely positioned to offer our wholesale broker partners an unparalleled service in the A&E space.”
