The round was led by Duquesne Family Office, with participation from The Stephens Group, alongside continued backing from long-term partners Brand Foundry Ventures and American Family Ventures.
Founded in 2022, Ledgebrook intends to use the newly raised capital to accelerate the growth of its existing operations and explore new opportunities. This funding also coincides with the appointment of Anthony Segal-Knowles as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Segal-Knowles, formerly with Lazard, brings extensive expertise in financial and strategic planning, having held senior roles at the British Treasury and the International Monetary Fund.
Commenting on the funding, Ledgebrook founder and CEO Gage Caligaris said: “We are delighted to welcome Duquesne Family Office and The Stephens Group to the Ledgebrook family. Their long-term vision aligns perfectly with our ambitions for Ledgebrook’s future. It’s a rare privilege to partner with such high-calibre investors, and I’m incredibly excited for what’s to come.”
Ryan Morrow, Managing Director of The Stephens Group, added: “Over the past year, we’ve had the opportunity to get to know Gage and his vision for Ledgebrook. The Excess and Surplus (E&S) market is in need of better technology to manage complex risks, and Ledgebrook is building the platform to address that need. Our investment not only supports Gage and his team but also underscores our commitment to driving innovation within the insurance industry. We look forward to partnering with Ledgebrook as they transform the E&S space.”
This latest Series B funding follows Ledgebrook’s $24 million Series A, which was announced in March 2024. That round was led by American Family Ventures, with participation from Brand Foundry Ventures and Floating Point.
In June 2024, Ledgebrook expanded its professional lines offerings with the launch of a new architects and engineers (A&E) insurance product, developed in partnership with Obsidian Insurance. This addition complements Ledgebrook’s existing portfolio, which includes miscellaneous professional liability and allied healthcare insurance, also developed in collaboration with Obsidian.
