Rosa succeeds the current CEO Eduardo Pérez de Lema, who will transition to the role of CEO of International Insurance.
The newly established International Insurance division will integrate LATAM, EMEA, and MAPFRE Global Risks into a unified unit, under the leadership of Eduardo Pérez de Lema. Rosa, currently serving as the CEO of Verti Germany, will assume the role of CEO at MAPFRE RE, while Mónica García Cristóbal, head of transformation at MAPFRE in Spain, takes the helm as CEO of Verti Germany.
In tandem with these changes, Ignacio Baeza’s retirement as first Vice Chairman, after 27 years of service, will see José Manuel Inchausti, current CEO of MAPFRE Iberia, stepping into the position. Fernando Mata, the group’s CFO, will also take on the role of third Vice Chairman.
Further adjustments include the appointment of José Luis Jiménez, the current Chief Investment Officer, as deputy CFO within the Finance Area, maintaining his oversight of global investment management.
Raúl Costilla, the current CEO of MAPFRE Vida, will assume the role of group Chief Business Officer, overseeing the global sales and technical strategy. The corporate structure will be further streamlined by integrating People, Strategy, and Sustainability into a single area, led by Alfredo Castelo.
Within the Iberia operations, Elena Sanz Isla, the current group Chief People Officer, will become CEO of MAPFRE Iberia, while Jesús Martínez Castellanos, the current regional CEO of LATAM, will serve as Deputy CEO and CEO of MAPFRE Vida.
Additionally, the renewal of executive roles extends to multiple countries within the MAPFRE Group, with over 15 senior executives appointed or reassigned. These changes are set to take effect on January 1, 2024, with the exception of the Internal Audit appointment, scheduled for March 31, 2024.
Antonio Huertas, Chairman and CEO of MAPFRE, commented, “We are laying the foundations of the company for the next 10 years. Everything we have achieved so far, especially financial strength, service excellence and proximity to the client, the focus on people and the reinforcement of our ethical commitment and values, will be maintained as essential and differentiating elements of MAPFRE.”
He added: “But the environment has changed, and we are going to move forward with a new, simpler road map that gives us the flexibility and ability we need to continue holding leadership positions in the group’s main markets.”
