McGill and Partners, a leading independent global specialty insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced its expansion into the Nordic region with the opening of a new branch office in Sweden, pending regulatory approvals.

The move marks a significant step in the firm’s ongoing growth strategy and strengthens its presence across Europe.

The new Swedish office will be part of McGill and Partners‘ European entity, increasing its ability to offer specialised broking expertise to clients and trading partners throughout the region. The expansion will allow the firm to deliver advanced solutions across key specialty areas, catering to the unique needs of its global clientele.

Initial hires for the Swedish branch include Jon Petursson and Wilhelm Westerstad, both of whom will join from WTW. With over two decades of experience, Jon and Wilhelm have been pivotal in developing specialty-focused business portfolios in the Nordics and beyond. They will officially join McGill and Partners after completing their current contractual obligations.

The expansion into the Nordics is a key milestone for McGill and Partners, demonstrating the firm’s continued growth and commitment to strengthening its global footprint in the insurance and reinsurance markets.
