Powell, (pictured) who is based in London, will continue reporting to Pat Donnelly, the President of Marsh Specialty and Global Placement.
The decision marks a notable shift from the previous announcement in October 2023, where it was communicated that Powell would be departing from Marsh to assume the role of Global Chief Claims Officer at WTW. The latest development underscores Powell’s commitment to his role at Marsh and reflects the ongoing strategic leadership within the organisation.
In his current capacity, Powell’s responsibilities encompass overseeing Marsh’s team of numerous claims advocates worldwide, overseeing specialized claims management, and providing forensic advisory services. Additionally, he plays a crucial role in fostering innovation within the claims resolution process. This involves spearheading the development of data-driven and analytic solutions and integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Powell, who joined Marsh in 2014, brings a wealth of experience to his role. Before this tenure, he served as the Global Chief Claims Officer at Torus Insurance and held the position of President at Cunningham Lindsey International from 2001 to 2006. With a career spanning over 30 years, he has accrued extensive expertise in international loss adjusting, having worked on some of the insurance industry’s most notable and intricate global catastrophic losses.
