The partnership will simplify the quote and bind process for auto insurance, offering API-powered capabilities to agents.
Initially available to agents in California, the new integration provides access to Root’s standard and preferred auto insurance products. The companies plan to expand the offering to 25 additional states by the end of October.
The enhanced interface allows agents to enter basic customer details, such as driver and vehicle information. From there, the system pulls relevant data and, after considering state minimum requirements and past coverages, suggests an appropriate policy and deductible. Once logged into First Connect, agents can work across devices without needing to re-enter carrier credentials, streamlining the process further.
Root and First Connect are set to roll out this new quote and bind solution to more states in the coming months, with the goal of providing a more efficient experience for independent insurance agents nationwide.
First Connect President Aviad Pinkovezky, commented on the move, saying: “First Connect is committed to providing independent agents with access to leading insurance products and the technology they need to succeed in all markets. Adding a leading insurtech like Root, renowned for delivering a simple insurance purchasing process, is a natural fit for our platform and a win for the agents we support.”
Jason Shapiro, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Root said: “The independent agent channel presents a unique opportunity to reach more drivers. First Connect’s technological prowess and productive independent agent community make them a natural partner for building a seamless and secure interface and further diversifying our distribution strategy.”
