Sabre Insurance, a prominent insurer, has chosen InsurTech company CDL as its partner for pricing and direct insurance platforms, following a formal tender process.

The strategic move entails Sabre adopting CDL’s cloud-based insurer hosted pricing hub, Proteus, to facilitate mass market distribution with enhanced control over product and pricing. Furthermore, Sabre’s direct private car and van brands, Go Girl and Insure 2 Drive, will transition to CDL’s Strata retail insurance platform.

The migration to CDL’s platforms aligns with Sabre’s goals of growth and operational efficiency, as the company continues to invest in its business. With the launch of Strata, Sabre gains access to CDL’s self-service portal, empowering customers to conveniently manage their insurance policies online. This includes tasks such as document downloads, mid-term adjustments, and renewals.

One of the notable features that Sabre will benefit from is access to CDL’s API suite, enabling the company to build and maintain its own brand’s quote and buy journeys. Additionally, integration with price comparison websites will be streamlined through CDL’s platform.

Geoff Carter, CEO of Sabre Insurance (pictured), expressed the company’s aspirations for greater competitiveness in its direct product offerings and an improved customer experience. He said:

“Sabre has ambitions to further increase the competitiveness of its direct products whilst significantly enhancing customer experience. Moving to the CDL platform will allow us to realise operational efficiencies whilst also offering greater convenience, autonomy and enhanced customer experience.

“The move to an IHP hub is also extremely timely and we look forward to having greater pricing flexibility, including the ability to roll-out enhanced pricing models. We also anticipate benefits from partnering with CDL to bring our IHP and direct systems together within a proven insurance ecosystem.”

Carter pointed out the timely nature of transitioning to an insurer hosted pricing hub (IHP), enabling Sabre to have increased pricing flexibility, including the rollout of advanced pricing models. The consolidation of Sabre’s IHP and direct systems within CDL’s established insurance ecosystem is anticipated to bring further benefits to the company.

Nigel Phillips, CEO of CDL, a leader in the insurtech space, added: “We are delighted to welcome Sabre to the CDL community and look forward to supporting them to expand their footprint and drive profitability as they embark on this digital transformation journey.”
