Sigo Seguros Closes Successful $10.5 Million Series A
Sigo Seguros, a car insurance startup dedicated to serving underserved communities, has raised $10.5 million in a Series A funding round.

The round was led by Varco Capital and Listen, with additional backing from Angeles Ventures, Flintlock Capital, Zeal Capital, Rise of the Rest, and Fiat Ventures, according to Coverager.

Founded in 2018 and based in Austin, Texas, Sigo Seguros takes a “Spanish-first” approach, primarily targeting immigrants and working-class communities. The company currently offers car insurance in Texas through a partnership with Old American Insurance and plans to expand to Florida and California with the fresh funding.

The new capital will also support product development, with Sigo Seguros focused on providing accessible, inclusive car insurance for underserved groups.

To date, the company has provided coverage to over 60,000 people. In 2023, its partner Old American reported that Sigo Seguros generated $13.8 million in written premiums. Prior to this Series A round, the company had raised $12 million in disclosed funding.
