As independent workers seeking looser employment arrangements, they face significant challenges when navigating their insurance, taxes and savings. This partnership will give independent drivers full access to Roadie’s platform, allowing them to tackle the financial complexities of independent work more confidently.
The partnership will allow drivers to access Stride’s comprehensive portable benefits platform, which includes a holistic insurance coverage alongside tax and financial planning tools. Stride simplifies the process of choosing insurance by providing access to the same affordable health plans. Stride also allows for personalised recommendations and unbiased advisors who ensure drivers who use the Roadie app will get the best packages for their needs and budgets.
Stride was founded in 2013, and since launching has helped more than four million workers save more than $5 billion on their taxes and monthly health insurance premiums. Stride enables 30% of independent workers to pay less 1$ per month for qualified health insurance. Roadie, founded in 2014, now has over 200,000 drivers who will be able to benefit from the solutions.
Noah Lang, CEO and Co-Founder of Stride commented: “At Stride, we have been serving the delivery industry for years and deeply understand their unique needs around taxes and insurance. We are excited to serve Roadie drivers.”
“Roadie and Stride’s partnership represents our commitment to ensuring that every independent worker has access to the essential benefits they need to thrive in today’s economy. By joining forces, we’re not only empowering drivers using Roadie with affordable healthcare coverage and valuable tax and financial tools but also fostering a stronger and more resilient independent workforce,” Lang added.
Marc Gorlin, Founder and CEO also commented on the collaboration: “We know Roadie drivers value their independence and care a lot about flexibility. They’re their own bosses and they want to feel like it, historically, that independence has come at a cost: the benefits that usually come with a nine-to-five. This partnership helps to bridge that gap.”
He added: “Through Stride’s comprehensive benefits platform, drivers can now access essential coverage and sophisticated tools tailored to their unique needs as gig economy workers.”
