The partnership will leverage both companies’ experience, expertise, and data analytics to identify early risk factors for common pet ailments. The collaboration supports early detection to provide better disease management.
The partnership will also focus on improving veterinarian and consumer education, product extensions, peer-reviewed studies, and other efforts to advance pet healthcare.
Through the partnership, families whose pets are enrolled with Trupanion will have access to information and support from Boehringer to manage their pet’s health. Boehringer will also support Trupanion’s goal of providing pets with the best medical care through their networks.
Trupanion provides unlimited lifetime payouts, distinctive lifetime pricing, and round-the-clock live support. To date, it has paid nearly $3 billion in veterinary invoices for its members. The increasing costs of veterinary care, fueled by inflation and medical advancements, highlight the necessity for high-quality, comprehensive medical insurance for pets.
Daniel Watkins, Boehringer Ingelheim Pet Business Head, commented on the partnership: “We are excited to work with Trupanion because they are so closely aligned with our mission of creating a world where pets and those who care for them thrive. The collaboration will open new opportunities in the animal health industry for both the veterinary community and pet owners.”
Dr. Steve Weinrauch, Trupanion Chief Veterinary and Product Officer, added: “We’re thrilled and humbled that Boehringer chose us as a partner. With this relationship, lifetime care meets lifetime coverage at a time when pet parents need us more than ever.”
